So, you've decided to ditch the boat anchor 6.2L or 6.5L diesel or the old SBC or BBC under the hood of your square body pickup. You love the way your truck looks and how you feel behind the wheel of it...but also like to be able to merge into traffic and occasionally pull a trailer or haul something heavy in the bed. You could have gone LS swap, but really like the power delivery of your newer diesel pickup and have decided that a 6.6L Duramax will give you the best of both worlds - classic looks with modern performance. Once you've got the donor engine sitting in the chassis (check out our mount kit WCF100173), the next order of business is to back it up with the right transmission to help put the power to the wheels.
